The Struggle is Real
Writing the word "struggle" in the title of this blog post was hard for me. I'm all about releasing the struggle, and I believe that my thoughts and words create my reality. But I had a realization that perhaps it is first necessary to acknowledge and sit with the struggle before you can begin to climb out of if.
Finding Your Passion
One of the fascinating things I have discovered while working with clients is that food issues get in the way of experiencing life to the fullest. While this may sound obvious to readers who are in the midst of a food struggle, I didn't make this connection until I fully adopted a primal lifestyle.
Change your Perspective, Change your Life
My coworker, a very gracious hostess, requested my menu input for our annual holiday party.
She said, "I know there are a handful of you on that restrictive diet, and I don't know how to prepare for that!"
I was taken aback! I was on a restrictive diet? This was news to me.
The Sweet Taste of Freedom from Diets and Restriction
This weekend I attended a three day birthday celebration and experienced a freedom that would have been inaccessible prior to adopting a primal lifestyle. In years past, a weekend of this nature would have involved one of two scenarios (I was not skilled in the art of moderation):
Scenario A: Worry about bringing my own food to stay on my strict diet. Worry about completing my inflexible workout regimen. Worry about whether or not to have a glass of wine or champagne (liquid calories!). Covet my friends’ celebratory food while I resentfully swallowed my dry chicken breast and broccoli. Why could they stay so so fit when just looking at cupcakes made my pants tighter?!
